It is handy for a child’s birthday party to light the candles, and of course, in the worst case scenario, economic collapse, your survival Zippo can light candles around the house.
Now that we’re talking economic collapse, think of the many uses for your Zippo. You could start a campfire. Your Zippo may come in handy for burning and melting two wire casings together. Heck, you might even need to start a bunsen burner to warm milk for a baby. You and your Zippo could be heroes.

This fuel is the class fuel you would expect to buy for a one time bottle purchase. It will provide you with a few refills and then you will have to buy more. If you are on a budget and can only buy one bottle at a time, go with the Zippo brand butane. The nice thing about this fuel is that it is universal.

The Ronson Multi Fill is simply a cheap alternative to Zippo. Again, if you are on a tight budget, you will buy what you can afford. It is an option, and it certainly won’t blow up your Zippo or anything.

Colibri is the fancy fuel on the market. It ships from London, and it comes in a tiny can. It is great for an EDC canister of butane. You may want to have a canister on hand with you while you travel, for instance.
The butane ships in a pack of six, but you still aren’t really getting much, since the cans themselves are so small. You will also pay for the premium. It is certainly a viable option though, if you are feeling British and must have a small can on you at all times.
Final Thoughts
There may be no reason at all not to just go with the Zippo fuel for your Zippo lighter. Still, it is nice to know you have options. You can always purchase a few different fuels and see which you prefer. Economic collapse will probably (probably!) not occur before you have had a chance to weigh the pros and cons of fuels for your Zippo survival lighters.
